Parc de Sceaux on the outskirts of Paris, also known as the "Petite Versailles", was once the home of Jean-Baptiste Colbert, Minister of Finance for Louis XIV. During the French Revolution the chateau was burnt to the ground, and an unusually severe thunder storm in 2000 saw widespread park ground devastation. Today however, a platoon of gardeners and the like upkeep the grounds and natural preserve on a daily basis.
