A Day At The Circus

Estelle Dougier - Exhibition: A Day At The Circus

The Circus is magic. A world apart. A star full of glitters, singularities and dangers. The Circus is made of a scenery, amazing acts, artists, music, lights, laughs and screams. The Circus is an enchanted parenthesis outside of a restrained reality. A jump out of time. The Circus is an unexpected journey back to childhood. A souvenir with a taste of cotton-candy and toffee apples. The Circus is a language. A performer intimacy. The Cirque is a human being with wings. A poetic figure. The Circus is a revelation. And more than anything, The Circus is a passion.

Estelle Dougier was born in 1971 in Paris. After studying at the Ecole Spéos in Paris and at the International Center of Photography in New York, she decided to devote herself to her passion: photography. Her key themes are night life, shows and childhood. She uses old film cameras and works principally in medium format and in color.
