Building the LPA membership benefits.
Making the move from awards site to credible industry association in the space of a year has been a lot of work but we think were well on our way. We achieved a great deal behind the scenes in 2007 and are looking forward to an exciting year! Thank you for being part of the LPA story so far. We look forward to being able to offer you yet more benefits this year.

Changes to the LPA website in 2007 have made it a very credible marketing tool. The industry is reading our newsletters and visiting the LPA site regularly. As a result, LPA members are being commissioned and contacted for use of images.

Sales opportunities are very important to our members and, for that reason, weve been keeping a keen eye on opportunities for you. The fine art market has engineered market prices - photographs by the likes of Gursky and Richard Price are now selling at over £3m. Photography has become the darling of art galleries, auction houses and museums and with this enormous shift in mind we decided to open an online gallery specialising of course - in photography.

Launching Gallery 1839 your online sales gallery
We are delighted to announce that Gallery 1839 is going live at the beginning of February look out for the ongoing PR campaign. The gallery will fill a yawning gap in the consumer market. It will represent commercial and fine art photographers, both LPA members and invited artists. Our aim is simple - to sell as many of your pictures as possible to a huge market that is looking to buy but doesnt know where to go. We open the gallery with 12 photographers who offer a wide choice of content, including Judah Passow (the internationally renowned photojournalist) and Peter Remmers (Hollywood special affects artist and art director). The gallery will continue to build its stable of artists through the rest of 2008. Interested? Please read the Gallery 1839 overview and get involved!
