‘Sitting somewhere between documentary, fine art and photo – journalism is how Raphael Schutzer–Weissmann’s work has been described. He uses 35mm, digital, medium format and disposable cameras to produce a diverse body of work.
Influenced by early 20th century photographers and numerous painters, Raphael Schutzer-Weissmann has exhibited and been published internationally. His most recent exhibition was ‘Held to account: power politics in art and fashion’. Held at Bridport Arts Centre it involved four artists, photographers, Lush Cosmetics and Agent Provocateur coming together to demonstrate the power of different forms of communication to warn and inform.
Raphael Schutzer-Weissmann has work in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Photography Film and Television and in several private collections.
He studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art.
