Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by the scientific fact that light is composed of atoms and could theoretically be put on a scale and weighed like any other physical object. Through the photosynthetic process, plants constantly convert light into matter. What happens to the light that falls on our skin, hair and fingernails? Does it become us? Does it turn us into light? As a child, I was frightened by the teaching that we are dust and to dust we shall return. Now I know better. I believe we are made of light and shall remain light. I hope it shows in these intimate portraits.
