Clayton Bastiani originally trained in the art of traditional photography, but has since converted to digital capture and processing.
Clayton's photography explores the various options available to the artist once an image has been uploaded into a software such as Photoshop.
Clayton's recent work involves digital manipulation in many forms from subtle composites to heavily textured layered pieces.
Clayton likes to draw inspiration from early pioneers as well as contemporary photographers. Marks and scratches present in works almost a hundred years old become the inspiration for ideas that could be brought forward to the 21st century and incorporated in his work through the use of various textures and composite elements.
Clayton Bastiani enjoys working with figurative concepts, whether they be clothed, nude or implied nude, constructing abstract or clear narratives around the main subject of the image.
In all his work Clayton attempts to create an otherworldy, timeless quality, but with the use of current, almost futuristic processing techniques.
The focus behind much of Clayton's personal work is age, manipulation, textures, colour, emotion, narratives, suggestions and exploration of photo editing techniques
Clayton Bastiani has been a professional photographer since 2007.
The work of Clayton Bastiani has been included in several exhibitions throughout the United Kingdom and has achieved recognition in global competitions.
Many of Clayton's images have been used for illustrating book jackets and can be found in bookstores worldwide.
Other works by Clayton have featured on calendars, cards and in magazines and compilation books on photography.
Clayton Bastiani has a selection of images available for commercial use marketed through the renowned Trevillion Images.
Clayton is available for private commissions.
